GREG Lucas

President and Founder

Greg’s inspiration for constructing Nurturing Nest Family Care Home is deeply rooted in the plight of his mother in law, Perla Cuadra, and her battle with Dementia.  Having witnessed first-hand the need for compassionate care of a loved one, requiring help with the normal activities of daily living, he understands the culture necessary to run a successful Family Care Home.  That culture is the cornerstone of Nurturing Nest and is instilled in our entire staff.

Greg has had over 30 years of experience in the Legal and Medical Malpractice Insurance/Risk Management arena and has acquired a tremendous understanding of the inter-relations of Healthcare State Mandates and resident “standard of care”.  He made the decision to parlay that knowledge and pursue the necessary NC Certifications to open Nurturing Nest Family Care Home.  He has a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a faithful fan of Badger Football and Basketball.  He has a lovely wife Colleen, who was also instrumental in the planning of Nurturing Nest, despite having her own successful career in Technology Sales.  His pride and joy are his daughter Julia and son Cole.  Over the years he has been their coach, mentor and loving father which is by far his most prideful accomplishment.
